APS – List of Financial Information Needed to Perform a Complete Analysis of APS FY13 Budget

CONTENT WARNING this post is primarily directed to financial and accounting geeks – who like myself – do not really have a life!

I recently was asked what information I would need to do a complete and comprehensive analysis of the APS Budget. It is a lot – and below is a list that represents the starting point from which the analysis process can begin. As I note in the listings below – some of the information is avaialble in raw form and some is not – but I will keep digging. I have already prepared many of the financial statements noted below and I use them as the basis for my analysis. Also, I will be publishing many of these on a separate page once they are formatted properly.

In addition, I would not expect a non-financial person to fully understand all of the content contained in the list below. However, I would expect that a financial expert would have them readily available and be willing to explain the important points and issues that arise on each page.

And that is my objective for this entire exercise – to develop “clarity” from a jumble of financial data.
