APS – BOE Race Gets More Crowded – 2 Candidates Announce

As reported by Mark Niesse at the AJC, two new candidates have entered the race for the Board of Education. Dave Walker announced that he was running for the At-Large Seat 8 and Eddie Lee Brewster announced for At-Large Seat 9.

Eddie Lee Brewster is a substitute teacher who has run at least five previous campaigns for local and state offices and has previously served as a member of the East Point City Council. Mr. Brewster will be running against Jason Esteves, Mary Louise Palmer and Anne Wofford McKenzie for the At-Large 9 Seat.

Dave Walker who has been referred to as “a concerned citizen” has not filed any quarterly reports with the Georgia Government Transparency & Campaign Finance Commission.  He joins incumbent Reuben McDaniel, attorney Tom Tidwell, attorney Cynthia Briscoe Brown and real estate developer Mark Riley for the At-Large 8 Seat.

I was unable to find any campaign websites for the new entrants – if you find one, let me know and I will add it to the list.
