The AJC reports that the principal of Douglas High School has resigned effective June 16. Per the AJC article,
…he resigned Monday for “personal reasons.”…“I resigned on my own,” he said. “I’ve had some desire to do something different and that’s what I’m going to pursue.”
Horton was hired as Douglass’s principal in 2012. He previously served in the same role from 2001-2006 and also worked as a principal in the Fulton County Schools and at other APS schools.
Based on a review of the open positions on the APS website, there are now three principal positions still open – Douglass High, Deerwood Academy Elementary and Washington High.
