One Response to Round-Up of APS Headlines from the Past Week

  1. Beverly Fraud says:

Re: Resolution to honor Jean Dodd.

No she wasn’t perfect. But back in 2001-not a typo two thousand and ONE-Jean Dodd, was the one, the ONLY board member to say it like it was: WIDESPREAD SYSTEMIC CHEATING was happening in Atlanta Public Schools.

Jay Bookman, Cynthia Tucker and Maureen Downey at the AJC didn’t want to hear it (even when they were informed that Dodd was right

The (largely) white bidness community didn’t want to hear it.

The “largely) black political power structure didn’t want to hear it

A decade’s worth of ACADEMIC GENOCIDE was perpetrated on the children of APS because Atlanta didn’t have the courage to heed the clarion call of Jean Dodd.

If Courtney English REALLY wanted to honor her, this board would put forth policies that protect teachers from administrative RETALIATION, on of the major reasons a decade’s worth of academic genocide was able to persist, enforced by the administrative henchmen of an education charlatan.

But that would require REAL leadership, something this board hasn’t shown it has the stomach for.
